Day 7-He Directs Our Steps

Image
Psalm 37:23 The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. NLV The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, and He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. AMP God delights in every detail of your life! Each day is directed by the Lord for your benefit.  That means He already knows what needs to happen today for you to be blessed.  He has fun arranging every detail so it leads to the success He has planned for you. Looking back on my life, it is easy to see how God has directed my steps. Only God could have arranged the circumstances for me to be adopted into the wonderful family I'm in. He also arranged it so I could meet my birth mother and family at precisely the right time in my life. Nobody but God could have arranged the details of my life to meet and marry my husband or direct my steps to the job as a manager at Hancock fabrics. In both of those situations, I can look back and s...

Day 8-Wisdom is Playing with You

Image
Proverbs 8:30 tells us Wisdom was at the Creator's side as his master artist. Wisdom was God's daily delight. And Wisdom was delighted in us, their creation. Then I was beside Him  as  a master craftsman; And I was daily  His  delight, Rejoicing always before Him,   Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight  was  with the sons of men. NKJV   I was there, close to the Creator’s side as his master artist. Daily he was filled with delight in me as I playfully rejoiced before him.   I laughed and played, so happy with what he had made, while finding my delight in the children of men. TPT Dictionary.com defines wisdom as "the quality or state of being wise, knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action, sagacity, discernment, or insight".  But the Bible considers Wisdom as a multi-faceted being.  When I picture wisdom, I see a solemn old man with a long be...

Day 9 -Prosperity-More Than Money

Image
Psalm 35:27 TPT But let all my true friends shout for joy, all those who know and love what I do for you. Let them all say, “The Lord is great, and he delights in the prosperity of his servant. True prosperity is much more than just having money.  The word used here for prosperity is shalom,  meaning completeness, soundness, welfare, and peace.  It refers to peace with God, especially in our covenant relationship. A covenant is a legally binding contract where two or more people agree on promises, stipulations, privileges, and responsibilities.  Because the fallen man (that us) couldn't keep his side of the covenant, God became the man Jesus.  Because of our union with Jesus, we can fulfill our side of the covenant.  The promise of this covenant is that He will be our God, and we will be his people. The word for delight in means to be mindful of, attentive to, keep and protect.  One of the privileges of Him being our God...

Day 10-Giving Us His Kingdom

Image
In this verse, Jesus tells us to seek His kingdom first, and all the things we need while on earth will be supplied for us. Then He tells us not to be alarmed or struck with fear because the Father joyously gives us the kingdom realm with all its promises! A kingdom is a realm in which a king sovereignly rules.  Our king is Jesus.  God has given him all authority over the earth.  It was given to Adam but he lost it, and Jesus bought it back with His blood. Now every "thing" has been placed under His rule.  Eph. 1:21 says, He is far above any ruler and authority, power and dominion, and  every name that is named , not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  Your "thing" has a name.  Your "thing" has been placed under the rulership of Jesus's kingdom. A king rules by decrees, and you can find them in the Bible.  A decree is a formal and authoritative order having the force of law behind it.  We seek first the kingdom by sea...

Day 11- Ability to Please Him

Image
In part 1 of 31 Days of Delight, we saw how God delights in us.   In part 2, we will review how we delight him. Today's scripture will reassure you that you have been given the ability to please God. Philippians 2:13  AMP  For it is not your strength, but it is God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work(that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose) for His good pleasure.   God is continually working in you, giving you the desire to please Him.  You feel that desire, but how can you ever hope to please Him?  The thought overwhelms you. You strive, day after day, to do what you think will delight Him, but you are never confident that you are. Does that sound like you? Be encouraged, my friends, pleasing God is not as difficult as you think.  He knows what it takes for you to please Him, and has a plan to make that happen.  In our verse today, we see h...

Day 12-Depend on His Strength

Image
He does not delight in the strength (military power) of the horse, Nor does He take pleasure in the legs (strength) of a man.   The Lord favors those who fear  and  worship Him [with awe-inspired reverence and obedience], Those who wait for His mercy  and  loving-kindness. Psalm 147:10 -11 AMP You have sat with the Father and identified some dreams and goals.  Now it is full speed ahead!  You are excited and ready to make this happen.  YOU have got this, YOU will make it happen. But wait! Your own leg power doesn't please the Lord.  He wants you to reach all your God-given dreams and goals, but not with just your own strength. Those dreams and goals were given to you so God could work with you.  He wants it to be a joint effort, a collaboration between you, Him, and the angels He has assigned to those tasks.  He wants to shower you with favor on the journey to your achievements. It saddens Him if ...

Day 13-Repentance

Image
“Or, you may fall on your knees and pray—to God’s delight!     You’ll see God’s smile and celebrate,     finding yourself set right with God. You’ll sing God’s praises to everyone you meet,     testifying, ‘I messed up my life—     and let me tell you, it wasn’t worth it. But God stepped in and saved me from certain death.     I’m alive again! Once more I see the light!’ Job 33:26 (MSG) As we review what we do that pleases God, repentance has to be at the top of that list.  God knew that man would never be able to live a perfect life in this world.  Even Adam living in the paradise God created for Him would not do it.  So, along with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, they devised a plan.  Jesus would live that perfect life and take on the punishment for the inability to live a life that was acceptable to God.  Then repentance and restorat...
