Day 14-Listen and Obey
So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22 God wants you to delight in Him by listening and obeying, so He can give you the desires of your heart. Our scripture today tells us that religious sacrifices and empty rituals are not what pleases Him. For example, if the reason you are fasting is out of religious sacrifice, you're just on a self-imposed diet. The word heed means attentiveness, to pay attention to, or give attention to. We are to be attentive to obeying His instructions. We should be taking action, not be passive about our obedience. Have you heard something from God and responded with a Yes, God, I will!? Then when it comes to taking action, have gotten complacent? I know I have. This will delay your dreams from coming true...
