Day 11- Ability to Please Him

In part 1 of 31 Days of Delight, we saw how God delights in us.   In part 2, we will review how we delight him. Today's scripture will reassure you that you have been given the ability to please God.
Philippians 2:13  AMP  For it is not your strength, but it is God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work(that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose) for His good pleasure.
God is continually working in you, giving you the desire to please Him.  You feel that desire, but how can you ever hope to please Him?  The thought overwhelms you. You strive, day after day, to do what you think will delight Him, but you are never confident that you are. Does that sound like you?
Be encouraged, my friends, pleasing God is not as difficult as you think.  He knows what it takes for you to please Him, and has a plan to make that happen.  In our verse today, we see how He does that.
First, God implants His desires in you.  He creates a longing for you to fulfill the purpose He has for you.
Next, He continually revitalizes you, strengthening and energizing your passion for that purpose.
Finally, He gives you the ability and power to fulfill that purpose.
God has not left it up to chance that you will be able to delight Him.  He has given you the desire to fulfill your purpose. Whatever you need to fulfill your purpose has been arranged for you.  God is working it all out, in you and through you.
So that means you can relax and stop overthinking it.  If there is something you need to do to please God, He'll give you the desire and work with you to make it happen!  If there is something you know you need to do, but don't really want to, ask for the desire to do it.  Be willing to be willing, and God will help you with the rest.
Now it is up to you. He'll give you the desire and the ability to do what He has planned, but you must take action.  Your responsibility is to take the steps He has given you to do.

Take a deep breath and relax. You make God happy.
God is working in you TODAY. His work is effective and will accomplish what He desires.
