Day 9 -Prosperity-More Than Money

Psalm 35:27 TPT
But let all my true friends shout for joy,
all those who know and love what I do for you.
Let them all say, “The Lord is great,
and he delights in the prosperity of his servant.

True prosperity is much more than just having money.  The word used here for prosperity is shalom,  meaning completeness, soundness, welfare, and peace.  It refers to peace with God, especially in our covenant relationship.
A covenant is a legally binding contract where two or more people agree on promises, stipulations, privileges, and responsibilities.  Because the fallen man (that us) couldn't keep his side of the covenant, God became the man Jesus.  Because of our union with Jesus, we can fulfill our side of the covenant.  The promise of this covenant is that He will be our God, and we will be his people.
The word for delight in means to be mindful of, attentive to, keep and protect.  One of the privileges of Him being our God is that He pays attention to what we need to live the abundant life He has planned for us. God has completely prepared for our welfare; spirit, soul, and body.  We can be secure and have peace knowing He will protect what He has declared is ours.
That is HUGE, right?  Sometimes an all-encompassing promise like that is hard to wrap your head around.  So what exactly does prosperity look like to you?
Hebrews 13:20-21 say that the God of peace will strengthen and equip you with everything you need to carry out His will.  At the same time, He is working in you to accomplish that which delights Him.  One of my favorite definitions of prosperity is having the money, resources, time, and freedom to do what God calls you to do when He calls you to do it.  As His true friends, we know and love that He is doing this. We join in His delight seeing the prosperity of the saints around us, as well as our own.  That is what prosperity looks like to me.

Take a minute and define what prosperity means to you. Write it out and meditate on it.  Allow the Holy Spirit to reveal how it is working in your life.  Then give a shout of joy for what the Lord is doing.

Then leave a comment and share it with us.
