Day 28-He Answers Your Cry

Psalm 91:14-16 The Passion Translation (TPT)
14 For here is what the Lord has spoken to me:
“Because you have delighted in me as my great lover,
I will greatly protect you.
I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face.
15 I will answer your cry for help every time you pray,
and you will find and feel my presence
even in your time of pressure and trouble.
I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast.
16 You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you.
For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”

You are probably familiar with Psalms 91.  It is filled with benefits for those who delight in the Lord.  It is a promise of security, rest, refuge, and protection.  It says God will command His angels to protect and defend and guard you.  You are so precious to Him, He doesn't even want you to stub your toe!
But the most encouraging part to me is verse 15. You see, sometimes we step outside of this protection. We move from the high place where we are safe and secure. We don't cooperate with the angels He has given charge over us.  We believe the lies of the enemy over what God has said.  That is when we land in trouble.  It is reassuring to know He will answer your cry for help EVERY TIME.
All you have to do is call and He comes swooping down.  He'll catch you like Superman caught Lois Lane, and take you back to the high place.  He sets you there once again, safe and secure before His face, and proceeds to care for you.  As He comforts you, He'll remind you of the rules.  "Stay under the wing of my protection and you will be satisfied.  I'll do everything in my power to see that you have a long and full life."
But the promise of rescue is not just because we delight in Him.   It is because He is delighted with us.  Psalms 18:19 says, " He rescued me because He was pleased with me and delighted in me.
I'm glad to know that His rescuing me in time of trouble doesn't depend on me! It occurs because He is pleased and delighted in me because I am His child.  A good parent will always come to the rescue of a child when they call.  They don't leave you in a dangerous or uncomfortable situation once you have called on them for help.  Because you are loved, your safety and comfort are more important (at that time), than what you did to land in that situation.  After you are safely back in their arms, then you will get the lecture and correction you need so that doesn't occur again.

Close your eyes and picture God as your hero coming to your rescue as you cry out for help.    Feel His presence with you in your situation.  See the end of your trouble and the feast He has prepared for you to celebrate your victory.

Write it all down in your notebook.  Go back to it whenever you are discouraged.  Remind yourself that God delivers you because He delights in you!
